Bio
The Velveteen Flowers are an exciting band from Las Vegas, Nevada, incorporating influences from diverse genres, including rockabilly, swing, alt-jazz, burlesque, to jump blues. The band formed in 2024 by critically-acclaimed singer/songwriter Rabbit Jones, whom was also up for a GRAMMY® Nomination for “Best Jazz Vocal Album” in 2022 for his collaborative record release under his given name and entitled “It’s A Crossover Thang” with long-time friend and GRAMMY® Award Winning trumpeter, Bijon Watson.
The Velveteen Flowers are a power-trio that includes Rabbit Jones (vocals & guitar), Nick “VIP” Schmitt (bass), and Nick “Sticks” Kittle (drums). The band is rounded out by saxophonist Sam "Skitz" Lemos and also includes various guest trumpet players for their horn section during live shows.
Rabbit Jones was previously signed (under his given name) with Warner Chappell Music and EMI Music respectively as a songwriter. His music has been licensed in film and television throughout Europe, Asia, and America, including shows on HBO, NBC, TBS, Discovery Channel and Showtime.
Nick “Sticks” Kittle was previously a performing Blue Man member in Blue Man Group in Las Vegas.
